Juiced a bucket of grapes for juice and then made 8 trays of grape leather...

Made 53 pints of tomato soup....

Started making Christmas gifts for my grandchildren

Black Island Farm Field Trip...

Every year at preschool, Evie gets to have a field trip to Black Island Farm.  This is a special place to go and pick out your own pumpkin for Halloween.  She looks real hard and get the perfect pumpkin and takes it home to decorate and put on her front porch.
They also get to eat fresh carrots at the farm.  She loves to have Mommy clean off the dirt then she eats the carrot like a rabbit does.  What a silly girl she is.  This girl loves her carrots and dirt.
I wanted to go to Black Island Farm with her this year, but goodness gracious Evie forgot to remind me that is was Friday and I didn't remember until she told me on Saturday.  Silly Grandma.  Maybe next time Gramps and I can go with her.
Today she had another field trip to the FIRE station!!  This is her and Maddie at the fire house.  I bet she had tons and tons of fun climbing all over the fire engine and seeing the fire dog.
I want to be in preschool so I can go on all these fun field trips.
Evie didn't take Flat Grandma, cause when she got home from San Diego she tore Flat Granny in pieces and tossed her in the trash.  Now Flat Granny is gone and can't go on any more trips with her.

Football Any One!!!

Last week we were able to go to Canyon's football game.  He did so good and caught two passes.  The first one he held the ball tight and ran as fast as his little legs would carry him to the end zone, but unfortunately he was tackled before he got to the goal line. I don't know who was yelling the hardest, his Dad who is one of his coaches and stands on the sidelines or his Grandpa who was standing in the bleachers.  Mom and Grams were also yelling, but not as LOUD as the guys.
The second ball was caught just seconds before the end of the game. He was sad because he wanted to run with the ball again.  Way to go "C Man" you are one rough and tough football player.

Fall Harvest...

Thinking of Zella today as I used her steamer juicer to make this beautiful rich colored grape juice.
I miss her very much and long for those days that we got to spend time together doing all the fun things.  This canning season has been one of memories as her canning equipment is once again used in the process of preserving food for my family.  Thanks Zella for all the good memories.  Miss you tons and tons!!

Grandpa...

This is the portrait of Grandpa that was so diligently painted by Evan Makell Madsen.
Notice the abundance of hair, the red Ute football uniform and the cleats on the shoes.
She laughed so hard as she was painting the hair and kept saying that Grandpa's hair is big.
I told her that I had never seen Gramps with that much hair before and she would just giggle some more.
Maybe one day he will have lots and lots of hair.
You can't really see them very well, but she said that his ears came down to his chin.
Oh how she loves her Gramps and he loves her too.
