Little Prayers Help…..

DSCN2848

Tomorrow we leave for Colorado to help Danielle and Tony move to Nevada.  We are praying that the roads are clear and the storm holds off until we pass through the area.

We are glad for the time spent with them and being able to be of assistance.  Life is full of adventures and I know that this new adventure in their lives will be good.

Please keep prayers going toward heaven for our save journey.  Your prayers will be greatly appreciated.

Little Scholar

Grandpa found this desk at DI and did a little paint job on it.  Now the girlie has a desk to keep all her coloring tools in and her books organized.

Look how the desk matches her stool.  Gramps sure is one crafty dude, doncha think?

A Great Speller

Canyon was selected from his third grade class to participate in the spelling bee at his school.  He did very well and took third place.  That is such a big accomplishment and he was selected out of 100 third graders to be in this contest.

Cub Scout Project....

Canyon came up and spent the weekend with us.  He had to make something out of wood for Cub Scouts so Grandpa took him out to the shop and they made these neat bookends.
Canyon was able to use the saw and sander in making them.  When they were ready to put together he got to glue them together and use the clamps to hold them in place while they dried.  Once they had dried, he had to sand them one more time and then it was time to paint.  Grandpa showed him how to paint with the spray can and told him how important it was to lightly sand between each coat of paint.
When all of this was accomplished, they brought the bookends into the house and I had cut out of vinyl the letters that Canyon wanted put on each bookend.
He is making his room a sports themed room so these will go perfect in his room.

Bookends that Canyon made....

of course he had to have the two rivals in Utah
(UofU and BYU)

Grandpa and Canyon with the bookends...
Canyon had to make sure they stood by their team...

This was a fun project for Grandpa and Canyon and they did such an awesome job.
It is always fun to work in the shop with Gramps.

Biggest Ute Fan Ever….

There is a big Utah Ute’s fan in our family and this quilt was made for him.  This boy eats, sleeps and drinks the Utes. It does not help that his father is even worse when it comes to their favorite team.
Canyon, I hope that you enjoy this quilt as much as Grammy had making it for you.  When you get to Okinawa in a few months and you miss Grandpa and Grandma, remember to wrap up tight and you will feel all the love that we have for you.
We love you very much and thank Heavenly Father for sending you to our family.

Wrapped in Love

I have been working very hard on trying to get quilts done for some of my grandchildren.  This is the quilt that I made for Cody.  He is such a die hard Boise Bronco’s fan and this was the perfect quilt for him.  I can hardly wait to give it to him on Friday when I go to Colorado.
The anticipation of the look on his face is getting the best of me.  I can see the look of total surprise when he opens the package and pulls out this beautiful quilt.
If love for Cody were counted in stitches, then this Grandma has millions of loves for him.  I love this boy so much and am thankful that he is my grandson.  Cody, this quilt was made with tons of love and I hope that you will be able to feel my love for you as you wrap up in this quilt.
I do love you so much!!!

Knot Dress...

Today I made this adorable "Knot Dress" also called the "Apron Dress".
Won't my little granddaughters look sooooo cute in them?
They are super easy to make and I followed the tutorial that I found here.
Well I better get started making dresses for my sweet little girls as they need cool clothes for summer.
