We got to spend the Memorial Day weekend in Ephriam, Utah. This is where Grandpa Leon Madsen was born and raised. On Sunday morning before we left to come back home, we went to the cemetery and visited the graves of our family that has passed away.
Canyon and Evan got to see where their great great grandparents Daniel Fredrick and Mary Annie Rasmussen Madsen were buried. It is always fun to go visit family where the dead people live (this is what Meghan used to call the cemeteries)
This is Uncle Glen and Aunt Eudora's graves. Aunt Eudora and Grandpa Leon died one day apart and were the last of the Madsen siblings to die. We always said that Grandpa went first then waited for Aunt Eudora and took her hand and together they went to heaven to meet the rest of their family.
This is Aunt Eudora's baby Louise that died just shortly after she was born.
We don't know these people, but Evan thought she should have her picture taken at this headstone. She thought it would be cool.
We also went to visit Uncle Ray Madsen. When we got to his grave his son Steven and wife Judy were there placing flowers on his parents graves. We got to visit with them for a short time and then we left to go back home.
It was a very fun weekend and it is always fun to go to Ephriam for the Scandinavian Days celebration. We sold tons of funnel cakes, fried twinkies, fried oreos and fried coke. Thanks Kelly, Canyon, Evan and Aunt Verdell for coming to help us.
