The New Do…

Today Meghan took her state practical test for her cosmetology license and PASSED.  We are so proud of her and the hard work that she has put into her schooling over the last two years (minus a few months).

Evan waited all day for Meghan to cut her hair, but we had to wait for Mommy to get here before it could be cut.  Finally the big moment came and here are the pictures of this happy event for Evan.  Notice the smiles that she has…totally enjoying every minute.

Thanks Meghan for cutting Evan’s hair.   She looks so different, I hope that I can recognize her tomorrow when we leave to go to Grandpa Dale’s Birthday party.

My Dad

This is my Dad!!!

He must be about 8, I think.  Boy wasn’t he the cutest little boy.  His hair was so blonde and now it is so white. 

Dad with his parents and five sisters.  What a beautiful family he came from.  All that are left now is Aunt Jean (front right), Aunt Vonnie (baby), Aunt Sherry (blonde next to Aunt Jean) and Dad.  Aunt Lois, Aunt LaRee and Grandpa and Grandma are our Angels watching over us.

I love my Dad so much and am counting the days till I get to see him on Friday.  The big day is Saturday for his 80th birthday party.  His birthday is on the 28th and his true birthday is the 29th (he is really only 20 this year).

Happy Birthday, Payton

Happy Birthday to my precious Payton.  It is hard to believe that you are three today.  We love you very much and hope that you had a great birthday today. 

You are a very special girl and we are so thankful that you chose us to be your family.  Heavenly Father really blessed us when he sent your sweet little spirit to our family.  We do love you so very much.  Keep being that cute little girl that you are.

Cleaning the Stovetop

 

Today I cleaned the stove top grates and drip pans.  It is so easy and a Pinterest idea.  Go here for the full instructions  All you need is a 1/4 cup of ammonia, a plastic sac (I used a garbage sack and put all of them in) and an overnight soaking. 

To say the least, I was totally amazed at how the grates and drip pans look so clean and new.  WOW!!! wished I had known about this before I have to move.  My next place, I will defiantly be using this method of keeping my stove grates clean and shiny.

Well, you are now the big 22 and it has been a joy watching you grow.  I love you dearly and you make me proud. 

Keep your sites high and all your goals will be achieved.  Remember to honor your name and what it means.  You come from great Danish people that were hard workers and high achievers.  People with great determination to make the world a better place.

We love you so much and want you to always know that.  Thanks for being our grandson.  Many more great birthday wishes to you.

Super Bowl Party

We gathered at the Madsen’s in Clinton of our annual Super Bowl Party.  This year the New England Patriots and the New York Giants were playing.  The Patriots was the team Canyon was rooting for as they have been his favorite team for several years.  No matter how they do, he is true to his team.

There was lots of hollering and jumping around during the game and if the Patriots would have listened to Canyon about how to play they would have won by a mile.  He was one sad, emotional boy when the game ended and his team was not the winner.

Before the game started, we made our own pizza’s.  This was a fun event and it was exciting for the little ones.

Canyon made his pizza huge with lots of toppings including chips.

Evan made hers  with olives and cheese only.  With the olives, she made a dog’s head with it’s eyes, nose, mouth and the tongue.     

The rest of us just made regular pizza’s and enjoyed every bite  of them.
