For Little Boys Only....

SOME CUTE THINGS FOR BOYS ONLY!!!

For months I have been looking for a pattern to make rompers (also known as John-John's) for little boys (as now there is a special one year old in my life that would look adorable in them). The day finally came when that special pattern popped out of the pattern book on one of my many searches. I am making only sizes 1 and 2 in this style.
My days have been filled trying to find cute fabric and making rompers. This is going to be so fun to have in our booth along with the girl's dresses.

This is a favorite romper in blue and white strip then
I embroidered an airplane on the chest and the knee. Ever so cute.

If you look close you can see that the buttons on this romper are green cars.

Some lucky little boy in Phoenix, be on the look out for a package from Grammy that will coming soon.

SPRING, WHERE ARE YOU?

SPRING, WHERE ARE YOU?
I CAN'T FIND YOU...
ARE YOU HIDING BEHIND THE CLOUDS?
As I look out my window this morning, my mind is very confused. I thought spring was suppose to arrive on March 20th. OH!!! I forgot, I am living in northern Utah and we do not get spring with the rest of the world. We are having the first of three blizzards for this week. Right now it is snowing so hard that it is difficult to see across the street to Bob and Betty's house.
The poor flowers are popping their little heads out of the ground and the lilac bushes are budding, all in anticipation of seeking warm sunshine but the only thing they are getting is cold snow.
PLEASE MOTHER NATURE,
COME TO OUR RESCUE AND BRING IN THE WARM SUNSHINE.
WE ARE GETTING TIRED OF THE WINTER SNOW.

Quilted Bear.......

Friday brought a very pleasant surprise and a phone call that I have been waiting for for a week. Before I left to make my trip to LaSal to see family, I had made an online application to Quilted Bear in Ogden to become a craft vendor in their store.

I have checked my email everyday thinking the answer would be coming that direction, but when the phone rang Friday afternoon and Darin told me that my products had been accepted my heart did a flip flop and it was all I could do to contain my excitement. I have an appointment with him on Wed to go over all the particulars, pick out the booth size and get the info on when to begin setting up my booth.

Dick has been busy making children's tables, chairs, rockers, wood cars, trucks etc...... I have been sewing making capes, dresses, blankets etc.. We are ready for the fairs and anxious to be out there working with the public again.

I Want A Horse.....

Today our new McDonald's had their grand opening and we took Canyon and Evan there for lunch. Ronald came in and Canyon took off the other way. There was no way he was going to talk to "that man" or even shake his hand. There was not going to be a picture taken with him standing next to Ronald either. Little Missy Muffet was so brave and went right up to Ronald and let me take her picture with him.

The little ones had so much fun playing at the playground and having lunch with Gramps and Grammy.

We have done lots of errands like going to GameStop and getting two new games for Canyon, over to Walmart to get two movies and sand toys for the sand frog for Evan, got 4 bags of sand to fill the sand frog up, came home and Evan helped Gramps fill the sand frog then her and I played in the sand for awhile, watered the flowers, blew bubbles, then played on the swings. She was going "so high but I not afraid. I'm so high I can touch the birds, but I won't kick them in the eye".

Poor little Canyon was not feeling well so he laid on the couch and fell asleep. Hope his game really works when he wakes up.

When we were coming home I told Gramps that I hoped that Canyon wouldn't have a cow if his new games did not work. Gramps just said "Let him have a cow". Evan pipes up and said "I want a horse". I was laughing so hard that it was a good thing that Gramps was driving because I could not see the road. She sure says some cute things and is so serious.

We have really had a fun day with the children. One is asleep and the other is watching cartoons, eating popcorn on Grammy's bed wrapped in her favorite blankie.

Life was never this good before grandchildren.

Happy Birthday My Little Buckaroo....

Happy Birthday my little buckaroo, Hayden Tanner Curry. You are one year old and as sweet as cherry pie. You have stolen my heart and have me wrapped around your little pinkie finger.
One of my greatest dreams came true when you came from heaven to be in our family. Our lives are so much richer because of you.

Grammy's arms are pretty empty since I had to leave you in February to come home. Just thinking about you brings tears to my eyes. I call everyday just hoping that I will hear your sweet voice in the background.
I had so much fun with you when I stayed in Denver taking care of you and your family. We became best friends and oh, how precious you are.
You are faster than greased lighting and can destroy the cupboards faster than I can put then back together. You have the most contagious laugh and no matter what, you are always smiling. You are a ray of sunshine that brings warmth to the heart.

Little precious Hayden, have a wonderful birthday and enjoy the trucks and cars that Grandpa made just for his little guy.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LITTLE MAN!!!!

I LOVE YOU!!!

Winter Wonderland...

This morning I woke about 2:30 a.m. snow and wind. Since spring is just around the corner one would think that it was just a teaser storm. Well this afternoon at 3:00 p.m., we now have 14 1/2 inches that has dropped.
I texted Brook and asked her if she would like to come play with me in the snow and her answer was "no". I would rather be in her weather than in mine right now.
Hopefully this will let up as I am suppose to travel on Thrusday to La Sal and will not even attempt to go if the weather is bad.
Longing for spring to arrive.

Lights & Sirens

Last night we were finishing up dinner and Canyon came running into the kitchen yelling "Gramps there are police cars in front of your house".
We all ran to the front door to find six police cars that were surrounding a red car. The driver of the car was standing with his arms above his head. One officer was yelling at him to step backwards toward his voice and when he got close to the officers, they had him drop to the ground and lay face down then handcuffed him. There was a dog that got into the car then out then back in again.
We watched from the front bedroom and had the perfect view of what was going down. The little ones thought that was pretty exciting and that their grandparents lived on a pretty awesome street. Evan especially liked the blue lights cause they are the same color as her eyes. We discussed that the police are our friends and we must obey the law. When bad people do not obey the law then they will have to go to jail like this man did.
This morning Evan's first words were "Cops are our friends, hun Gama". "Yes, Evie, cops are our friends".

Settling back into life....

I am settling back into my life before Denver. My, it sure is a slower pace than chasing two little ones all day, but not as rewarding. I sure do miss my little munchkins and their sweet kisses. I call everyday just to make sure they are still happy and healthy.

I have been busy trying to get ready for my four spring craft fairs beginning on April 1st. Superhero capes are coming along, but not as fast as needed. By the time the fairs begin I should be well on my way to having almost 100 capes done and hopefully that will be a good start for the season. Last year we sold 200 and could have sold more if I had had them made. I have enough dresses left over from last season to begin, but want to make some jumpers.

My latest investment was an embroidery machine and let me tell you it is so fun. I made a darling blanket for Payton before I went to Denver. It was a light pink fleece with a decorative edging of hot pink then I embroidered a butterfly in one of the corners in the hot pink. This week I embroidered Dad's name on some towels for his birthday and they turned out awesome. This will be fun to incorporate some fun embroidery into our business.

Thoughts of Brook have been so hard to dismiss. She moved to Phoenix just after having the c-section and when they got there the house that they had rented was a wreck inside and filthy. They can't get the property management people to help them with the carpeting. With little ones playing on the floor, the carpeting has to be clean. Brea is constantly finding glass shards and taking to Brook. Once she gets it cleaned to her satisfaction, then I know that she will be happy. This is a pix of her house that she sent me. It is so cute on the outside and it really is a big home with 1700 square feet, 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, kitchen, formal living room and a great room, dining, kitchen combo. We are anxious to go see her in the fall.
Well, there was a ton of event applications waiting for me to fill out and get turned back in so that has taken up a chunk of time. All in all it is good to get back into the old routine and spending quality time with my sweet hubby.

Little Payton Riley Curry

I am wanting to do a collage of pictures. Anyone knowing how to do it please let me know.

Back from Denver

I am back in Utah after spending 2 1/2 weeks with Brook and her family. My time there was extremely enjoyable and busy. My love for her and her family was increased a thousandfold. Those precious babies are a delight and oh, how I do miss them. Those sweet smiles and laughs are a treasure in my heart.
It was hard to leave yesterday, but so excited to get home to see my sweet husband and family here. I told Brook on the way to the airport that my heart was breaking to leave her, but on the other hand I was so excited to get home to see my two babies here. When Evan found out I was home she asked her Dad if she could come for a sleep over.

I tried not to spoil her babies to much, but that is what a Grammy is for. While there I got to watch Hayden go from a couple of steps to standing in the middle of the floor and walking all over. He even cut a tooth while I was there. His precious little hugs are sure missed and my heart is really missing my best friend.

Brea and I were great pals. She loved to be with me all the time and we would dance or sing songs with her movies. It was so fun to fix hair even knowing that it would last for only just a couple of minutes. She would not leave her hair done for more than getting out of the bathroom and pulling out the elastics. She still loves to look at herself in the mirror and will do all kinds of faces and just laughs. She sure is a sweet little girl and takes such good care of her babies.

Little Payton is as sweet as ever and even slept with me the last three nights I was there. She is growing so fast and weighed 7 lbs 2 oz when I left. She is adorable and her looks are changing so fast. She is filling out and getting a double chin. My arms sure do miss having her in them.

Nolan was a fantastic help while there. We got to spend five days together without his parents there. He is such a wonderful young man and will come spend the summer with us and help in our business. It will be so fun to have him with us. It was fun to get to know him again.
Kelson was a joy to be with. He helped me get things packed and then packed the boxes to the garage so the house would still be clean and clutter free. I only wish the best for him and hope that he will be able to get into the Job Corp very soon. It will be the best thing for him and hopefully he will be able to complete his education and learn a career that will help him make a better life for himself.
Brook and Elton have moved to Phoenix, Az. They left yesterday and got there today. I know that this is the best thing for them and that they will enjoy the new beginning. A move is always fun.
Anyways, it is good to be home but I do miss my babies.

Happy Birthday Dad....

Yesterday was my Dad's birthday. You know, he is not very old as he only has a birthday every four years. All of his children and grandchildren are all older than he is. We celebrate each year on the 28th of Feb but on leap year then we really have his true birthday.

Dad is such a loving and caring person. There is never a stranger to be seen in his eyes. He will talk with anyone, anywhere and becomes instant friends.

Memories of Dad are so embedded in my mind and a treasure that I cherish very much. It is an honor just to be his daughter. He has always been there for his children and I have seen him drive all night just to be with one us when we needed him the most. He is easy to talk to and he does listen to what you say. He gives advice that will help you make the correct decisions.
As a young child my memories are of the fun times that we had as a family going to the mountain for the evening. He would come home from work and Mom would have a picnic lunch fixed then off to the mountain we would go. We would eat our meal and then sit around the campfire and sing song until it was time to go home. His children always came first in his life and he was proud of each of our accomplishments.

Dad has always been a jokester and would laugh so hard just thinking about what he was going to pull on one of us. One year I did get him back by making him a pair of suspenders that could hold up his stockings. When he opened the gift at a church party he just laughed so hard and gave me the biggest thank you for them. I do love to hear him laugh as it just makes you want to laugh with him. It is very contagious.

Dad has instilled in each of his children that your spouse is the most important treasure that you will every obtain and that person must be love dearly and treated with respect. I love to watch the love that radiates from my parents for each other. They are each others very best friend. Oh how I do love to be in the company of my parents. Dad's love for his family is never ending and he loves each child and grandchild with all his heart. Each child and grandchild has been given a special nickname that has lasted forever. When a new baby is born the parent just wait to see what Grandpa is going to call their child.

One very special time in my memory book with Mom and Dad is when they came to Salt Lake during the Olympics and we rode the train downtown to see what was happening. It was so fun to just spend the day with them and sight seeing.

Dad is an avid hunter and loves to be among the wildlife. He has taught each of his children to respect the outdoors. Each of us shares his love for the outdoors and for wildlife. Each year the children and grandchildren that can gather at their place in La Sal for the annual deer hunt. Time is spent enjoying each others company and if meat is taken that is good, but if not then that is great also as they have been rewarded with the company of family.

All of the family knows that Dad's favorite past time is a nap at 1:00 every day. He can sleep in a car, in a chair, under a tree or in a bed. It does not matter where he is when it is nap time he will just sleep where ever. We love to watch him sleep so peacefully and know that he is enjoying that nap.

I love you Dad and hope that your birthday was just as special as you are. You are one very special person and I am so thankful that you are my Father.
