Wild Past Weeks…

I have not posted anything for some time as we have been extremely busy trying to keep up on life.

Here are some highlights as to what we have been busy doing:

  • Transplanted the strawberries to the front flower bed
  • Weeded the flower beds
  • Transplanted my purple salvia to a new spot
  • Got the lawns mowed
  • Went to our neighbors funeral (I miss him so much)
  • Made a new dress
  • Made Mom’s Mother’s Day gift
  • Helped Kelly bottle chicken
  • Sold the Lexus
  • Sold the funnel cake business
  • Listed (and have a potential buyer for) the concession trailer
  • Bought tires for the truck

It has been busy and I am starting another big week trying to help Kelly get ready to move.  Hope all goes well and we get everything done that needs taken care of.  Moving is the pits!!!

Popcorn Popping on the Apricot Tree….

DSCN4596

My little apricot tree that we planted last spring is full of blossoms.  What a beautiful sight it is.  Tons of bees have found the sweet fragrance of the blossoms and are doing their job of pollinating the flowers.

To bad I won’t be able to reap the wonderful fruits that will adorn the branches of this adorable tree.

Payton’s Quilt…

DSCN4549

Tonight I finished Payton’s quilt.  I chose Windblown Sunbonnet Sue for her quilt.  I found this fabric a couple of years ago and had to have it.  It sat on the shelf for all that time just waiting to be made into a beautiful quilt.  As I was making the top, I began to wonder if I would ever get it done.  So much matching of lines and soon my head was aching furiously but with persistence, I got it done.

This quilt is done entirely on the sewing machine and I must have been out of my mind as I started to sew diamonds on the quilt, but diamonds are a girls best friend, right.  It took me four hours just to sew this center white piece and thirty minutes for each green square (there are 12 of them).

I started the quilt on Saturday afternoon and finished at 10:30pm tonight.  Lots of long hours were spent on this quilt, every second were spent with loving thoughts of my precious Payton.

I love the green binding and the back. So very Payton….she is my sweet little pink girl.

Love you tons and tons Paytie Pooh!!!!

Well now it is time to put the sewing room in storage and get this move done.  I promised that as soon as these three quilts were done, I would pack the house.  We are trying to be out before we leave for Louisiana next Friday.  Wish me luck.

Happy Birthday, Cody…

DSCN4491

Today you are 15 years old.  I remember so well the day you were born and how your family was so excited to finally have you here.  You were a big baby and was ready to take the world for a spin as soon as you made your entrance.

You have grown into a very nice young man, with lots of dreams and hopes.  Your goals are set high and you have the ability to reach them.

We love you and are thankful that you are part of our family.

Have a wonderful birthday and enjoy this next year to the best of your ability.

Cradle Me In Thy Arms…

Christ with Children

I have been having a hard time the last few days and have even had days of uncontrollable tears.  Saturday night I cried hard from 8pm until Sunday morning at 2am.  I could not get control of my emotions and even praying would not help.  What sorrow my heart was going through and no one could console me.  My poor husband just had to sit back and let me be. I could not talk or even be in the room with anyone.  I was in horrid shape.

I got word that my father had been admitted to the hospital the night before.  The sad thing is Brook was the one that called to let me know she had read it on Facebook.  After some phone calls and locating him at the hospital, I was able to hear his weak voice and tell him I loved him.  If only I had known earlier his name could have been put into the temple and I could have spent hours on my knees praying for him.  Life is so fragile and we need all the help we can get.

Thank heavens Dad is getting stronger and I can talk with him several times each day. He is sounding like his old self and never stops being that cheerful funny man that I love so much.

My fear of loosing him nearly tore me apart and all I could think of was what a selfish person I have been.  I have put myself  before what really matters in life. For so many years my life has been governed by my employment and then my business.  Now that the business is gone, my plans were to spend time with family, getting better acquainted with them and renewing friendships.  Now that is even changing.

My desire to please everyone is really taking a toll upon my soul.  I hope that the Lord is hearing my pleas and will soon ease the burdens that are weighing me down.  Today is better than yesterday and yesterday was better than the day before and that means maybe tomorrow will be perfect.

My sorrows are going to get better and I know that my feelings are just seeming to escalate because of this move that is ahead of me.  I am having anxiety feelings of detaching myself from my treasures.  We have down sized so much and things that have been so dear to me are now gone, never to be touched by my hands again.  Leaving this house is more than I can bear and I keep wondering if the correct decision was made.  In my mind it is right, but in my heart it is not.

Please,  Heavenly Father, please help me be strong.  Let this nightmare come to an end.
