1st Place Champion

Friday night Canyon was in a wrestling tournament in Pleasant View. He was so cute out on the mat and was very aggressive. Brought back memories of another little boy a little older but just as spunky as Canyon was out on the mat in Monticello wrestling for the first time. Oh, how these two little boys act just the same. Now my little boy is the Daddy watching his little boy and coaching him just like Uncle Lane coached Derek.
Canyon had his ears tuned to the voice of his Daddy and did just like he was told and after three matches came out the winner of the gold medal. Oh how proud Grandpa was of him and his eyes gleamed with pride as our little wrestler walked away from each match. We had so much fun watching our little wrestler that night.
WAY TO GO CANYON!!!!!

Changing Light Bulbs

Today my favorite newspaper arrived in the mail the San Juan Record. This is a birthday gift from my parents as they know how much I look forward to reading it each week. When it arrives I silently thank them for the paper and then turn immediately to "Life in a Nutshell", by Terri Winder. She has to be my favorite writer in the paper. She is so down to earth and just tells things like they are. Well today she included a tidbit of laughter and I wanted to share it with you.

"Because we're Mormans, we quite often receive help from the organizations. Each organization has their own way of doing things.

HOW MANY MORMANS DOES IT TAKE TO CHANGE A LIGHT BULB?
IT ALL DEPENDS!
THE RELIEF SOCIETY TAKES FIVE: one to make the cookies, one to fix punch, one to bring the tablecloth, one to design the center piece and one to screw in the light bulb.
IF IT IS THE BISHOPRIC, forget it, they don't do light bulbs. The delegate it to the ELDERS
THE ELDERS TAKES FOUR: three who don't show up, and one to change the bulb.
THE HIGH PRIESTS TAKES SIX: two to push the wheel chairs, one to handle the oxygen tank, and one to screw in the light bulb.
HOME TEACHERS TAKES TWO, but you have to wait until the end of the month.
THE AARONIC PRIESTHOOD ONLY TAKES ONE. He holds the light bulb in the socket and the whole word revolves around him."

Calmness In Our Lives....

I read this and wanted to pass it on as we all need calmness in our lives.

By following simple advice heard on the Dr. Phil show, you too can find inner peace. Dr. Phil proclaimed, "The way to achieve inner peace is to finish all the things you have started and have never finished."

So, I looked around my house to see all the things I started and hadn't finished, and before leaving the house this morning, I finished off a bag of almond covered candy, a package of Oreos, the remained of my old Prozac prescription, the rest of the cheese cake and some Doritos.

You have no idea how good I feel right now.

Have a great day!!!

Day After Election

Today has been somewhat bothersome for me. We got a new president yesterday and no he is not the one I voted for, but he is promising changes for our country. I pray that these changes are what will be best for our people. Something has to change as there are just so many wrongs that need to be corrected and it need happen and soon.

I'm not prejudice but the thing that bothers me the most is his lack of leadership. The other candidate had leadership experience and was so devoted to our country but he also was lacking qualities that I felt were essential to being a perfect candidate. Oh well!! who knows, maybe Obama will surprise us and be a better leader than what we have had in the past. We will just have to see what the future brings. I guess change is good.

Sleeping Beauty

Good day at Grandma's. I'm all tuckered out!!!

TOO MANY COUCHES

Can you believe this mess!! I think there are to many couches here.
Hey, I thought the door was suppose to fit on hinges.
Dad, don't you think it would be easer if you weren't on your knees?

Come on Dad, push harder I know you can do it!!!!

I Voted!!!!

Today is ELECTION DAY. What an exciting time for us in being able to select a new leader for our country. Even though my vote is just a tiny effort in the selection of a new president, I can honestly say that I expressed my wishes my pressing the box next to the candidate that I felt most qualified.

This election was very hard as both candidates are supporting changes that could be beneficial to all of us in different ways. I have never really swayed much from the candidate that I chose months ago, but still had an open mind to listen to the views of both parties.

I am glad that I live in this country where I, as a woman, have the opportunity to vote and that my vote will be counted. What an honor it was to cast my vote and they even gave me a sticker after I voted. What more could you ask for!!!

Good luck to my candidate and hopefully he will be the new president.

Yeah!!!! No Guam...

YEAH!!!!There are no words to describe the elation my heart is feeling after being told that the orders for Guam have been CANCELLED.

Derek called last night and it is official that they are not going to Guam. The past four months have been fretful and many restless nights have been spent on my knees in prayer asking for an understanding heart toward this move. Heavenly Father heard the prayers from the heart given by a very distraught mother and he did answer her heartfelt prayers.

From the words of Canyon, "I'm so excited we don't have to go to Guam. Now we can see you all the time". That is music to our ears. We just were having such a hard time letting these little ones go.

Thanks to our Father in Heaven for answering our prayers.
