and the winner is!!!!!

LEE DEWYZE

Once again my Tuesdays and Wednesdays have been totally devoted to watching American Idol. The winner this year is one that I hoped would win right from the beginning of the season.  To watch this young man perform week after week and the improvements that he made has been a true delight.  Yes, I honestly think that he was the true American Idol for 2010 and yes there were tears flowing as his name was announced.  I know, I know!!! I get to involved with this show.  Each year I tell myself to not get that involved, but it never works.  It is one little enjoyment involving tv that I allow myself.

This year has been one that was bittersweet as this is Simon's last year and I must say he will be missed.  I have enjoyed all the seasons and his sarcastic remarks and an ego that does not end, but he really was fun to watch.  It will be sad to not see him next year but you can bet that I will be watching his new show X Factor.

Another season is over and now I have to find another entertainment until January 2011.

Doom & Gloom

Today has been one of those days that you do not want to relive.  It all started this morning with fighting with the insurance company over their non payment for a mammogram that I had last month.  When you have had a biopsy in the past, a mammo is one procedure that brings peace of mind.  They paid to have the mammo read, but not the actual taking of it.  What a screwed up mess our insurance system has become.  Now these men on the medical board are saying that a woman does not need to have this procedure done.

LET THEM  BE CALLED AT WORK WITH THE NEWS THAT SOMETHING WAS ABNORMAL WITH YOUR LAST MAMMO AND WE NEED TO SCHEDULE YOU ASAP FOR A BIOPSY.  WE ARE SCHEDULING YOU FOR FRIDAY MORNING (the call came on a Tuesday).  THEY WOULD THINK TWICE ABOUT THEIR FABULOUS DECISION REGARDING MAMMOS FOR WOMEN.

Next came the news that the organizer for a particular event is someone that I have had words with in the past and in order to get into this "fabulous" event I have to go though this person.  I would honestly rather be beat with a stick that has nails poking out rather than talk to this person.  I disliked the way that I was treated the last time we spoke and the lies that he told.  My kind and good husband tried to call him, but could not reach him.  Now that leaves me to having to talk with him.  I have made myself sick just thinking about hearing his voice again.

Needless to say my emotions are at their tenderest and tears have flowed unrelentlessly today.  To top everything else off I received an email and that was the last straw and now I can't stop crying.  What a crappy day this has been and I can hardly wait to go to bed and hopefully tomorrow will be better.  If it starts out like today, I will turn over, pull the covers over my head and not get up all day long.

I don't dare take my blood pressure as I know it is already off the charts and rising as the day continues.  Wish me well that tomorrow starts out good, continues to be good and ends good.

Hooray!! Painting is done!!

Today I finished painting the back bedroom and hanging new mini blinds.  I am finished until fall when we remodel the main bathroom and paint the front bedroom.
Our back bedroom got a remodel when the closet was taken out for the tub in the master bedroom and a new closet was added.  I love it!!  It is a pale blue with white trim and ceiling.  I will post a picture when I get the sheers and the pictures hung.
We have done so much to this house since February.  It all started with a Christmas gift from Derek and Kelly when they painted the living room.  Then we needed to put in pantry cabinets so the kitchen got a nice paint job before the pantry could be installed.  Next we tore out the closet in the bedroom to extend the master bath and put in a tub.  That meant tearing out everything and putting in all new fixtures, flooring and paint.  Since it is part of the bedroom, wow!! that meant painting the bedroom.  The new wall in the bedroom had to be painted so that meant the entire room got a fresh coat of paint.  I am glad it is all over and I can be done with construction until fall time.
I am thinking it will be nice to begin my food season just to rest from the mess of this remodel.

Tired of cold

Not to much is happening at the Madsen home right now.  It is to cold to do any yard work, my tulips are finished blooming and the lilac is just starting.  Fruit trees are loaded with blossoms and hopefully it warms up and not freezes the fruit.
What a spring we are having.  Not to sure when "spring" will really be here.  I am ready for warm days to come visiting Utah.  I want to plant a garden and get the flowers in the ground.  Am I asking to much?
Enough complaining, right!!
