Angel Moroni Looks over Brigham City…

This is the crane that gently lifted Angel Moroni onto the temple…

MoroniAngel Moroni Put on

for him to proclaim the gospel to the world.

What a fun time was had in this historic event.  Here is our little party of people that stood just on the corner of 200 West and 100 South to watch the events of the day.

KSL News was there flying in the air…and we were all waiting for that special moment.

Our little blonde headed Carl, was wearing his pj’s and Kelly asked him if it was jammy day.  He said “no, it is temple day and I am suppose to go with you.”  He was so cute as he anxiously stood by me waiting for Angel Moroni to be lifted into the air.

We are truly a blessed people to have such wonderful family members that took time to come join us and for our little neighbors that love to be with us.

Now the real story……..it was blowing to hard to raise the Angel at 1:00 (suppose to be at noon) so it was cancelled.  They had to wait for the winds to die down before they could proceed.  We decided to run get a bite to eat but every place we went was jammed packed out the doors to the road.  We finally found a place and was about to order our food, when the lady behind me said she just got a text and the Angel had been placed.

Moral of the story…..HAVE FAITH and do not leave even for one second or you will miss the most important part of the day.  This is something that cannot be replaced and you will have to relive it through the neighbors, the news and the internet.  Such a sad story.  All the pictures are mine except for the close up of them placing him on the steeple.  That is how close we were to actually seeing this historic event…..but we did have a fun day with our family.

My Day So Far….

It is now 11:23 am and my day has not been that great.  I had to go to the doctor at 9:40 for a checkup.

Well that was an experience in it self.  I ended up with an xray of my knee, a shot in the knee, a stronger prescription for one med, deleted another med and two big vials of blood was drawn.  Kim was not able to get the blood to flow from the right hand so ended up poking the left hand.  My blood has to be drawn from the back of the hands instead of the arm so it really is tender.

Now my knee is numb like Dr. Dawson wanted it to be so that is a good sign.  Hopefully all will come back good on the blood.  If not then it is in to have a CTscan.  Lots of aches and pains right now.  Must be getting old…..oh that is right, I am old.   Just ask my grandchildren, they will tell you.

Happy Birthday, Kelson…..

Happy Birthday, Kelson!!!

You have been a shining light in my life and oh, how I remember the day you were born.  Your first 10 days were spent at my house and you were so rotten when I left for Colorado.

I love you so very much and wish that all your goals you set will be accomplished in life.  Always think positive and only positive actions will occur.

Kelson 3

Keep that sweet personality that you have and shine before others as their beacon of light.

July 4th...

Tomorrow is July 4th.  This is such an important day in our country's history.  Because of our forefather's and their zeal to win freedom, we are living in a free nation today.  We are able to worship our God continually.  We are able to enjoy freedoms that other countries cannot.

Today I want to thank all those men and women that are or have served in the armed forces protecting our country against other nations.  A big THANKS  to all of you.

My family has a history of military participation.  Thanks for all the hours that you have spent in this great cause of freedom.  Tomorrow as the fireworks are lit, I will be personally thinking of each of you.

To Derek:  you have served dilligently for over 21 years in the Air Force and are known world wide for your intelligence, integrity and character.  You are truly a son that we as parents are proud of.  You make being the parents of a soldier a dream come true.

To Richard:  you are just beginning your career in the Air Force and there are many adventures for you to experience in the years to come.  Your name will go forth in greatness as you achieve your goals in the medical field.  Oh, the many lives you will touch as you walk down the path of life.

To my dear husband, Dick:  You served so faithfully in the Navy.  You were just getting out when Viet Nam was beginning.  Your service in the military were years you will never forget.  There is a bond between servicemen that can't be replaced with others not associated with the military.  I love that you served dilligently.  My hero you will always be.

To Kendall:  Thanks for setting examples of goodness for my son.  You too were known worldwide for your intelligence on operations.  You were taken to many location of secrecy during your years in the service.  Thanks for being a man of valor and courage.  Thanks for being my brother.

To Uncle Jay:  You served in the Navy during the Korean War Conflict.  I remember seeing pictures of you wearing your uniform.  Man you were one handsome dude.  Your years in service were served with honor.

Many cousins and uncles served in the different branches of the military and you to will be remembered tomorrow.  Thanks for all your hours of service to your country.

I am so grateful to live in this country, the United States of America.  I am grateful for freedoms that we take for granted.  I love this country so much. Like so many that return after being out of the country for so long, I fall to the earth and kiss your gracious ground.

God Bless America!!!!
