Happy 17th Birthday, Tiffeni…

Happy Birthday, Tiffeni.  You have brought so much happiness to my life.  Our family would not be the same without your spunkiness, laughter and wit.  You can make a dull time into one of joy and fun.

I love your gentleness with little children and how you make them feel so important.  I love your hugs and the way you let me know that you love me.  I love your sweet smile and how it lights the day.  I love your cute face and see an angel radiating love.  I love your sparkly eyes and know that you are very close to God and strive to live His commandments.  I love you more than all of the stars in the sky and treasure the gift you have given me of being your grandmother.

Happy Birthday sweet Tiff.  Hope you know just how loved you are.

Green Dresser/Vanity

SOLD

This piece of furniture was disgusting with its broken tar lined drawers and it stunk.  Some one must have dumped a couple bottles of perfume in the one drawer and we do not know what the purpose of the tar was.

With his handy dovetail tool, Dick made new drawers and now this is one desirable, functioning piece of furniture.

I love this new color, Eden, and thought it really made the dresser pop with the handles in the oil rubbed bronze.  We, at first, thought this piece was a desk, but then decided that it was a dresser/vanity.  We went to DI and found a mirror, painted it and wow….what a beauty this became.

This dresser/vanity has found a new home at Hill Air Force Base and was picked up today. It is going to be in the room of one of the cutest little girls on base.

Brea’s Raggedy Ann Quilt

DSCN4413

I have just finished the last of three quilt tops for Brook’s little ones.  This one was made to finish the Raggedy Ann, Andy and Arthur (dog) that Brook wanted.  Kelson got Andy when he was two and Nolan got Arthur when he was one.  Now Miss Brea has her Ann quilt to complete series.

This was a fun quilt to put together and I am pleased with how it turned out.  Now I have to quilt all of them, but that will be later as it is time to start packing and get this move taken care of.

On the Road Again…

Well most of you know that we are off on another adventure.  We are following Derek and Kelly to Louisiana for a while and from there we are going to retire in Arizona.

No more funnel cakes and hours that are killers.  No more putting business before family and not getting to participate in fun times with them.

We will be moving in with Kelly and the children next month (or sooner) as Derek leaves this month for Louisiana.  We stay there until school is out and then go with them in June.

We are putting all our things in storage and will be living with them.  Evan is already counting the days until we are at her house and she can see us every day (so are we).

I am anxious for the move to be done and all my little projects finished.  It is hard to know what to leave and what to take, but as long as you have family you don’t need very much.

Thanks Derek and Kelly for asking us to go with you.

Busy Busy Bee…

I have been so busy since we got back from Christmas.  I am trying to get Brook’s three little ones quilts finished before the big move.  Each quilt is made from fabric that is in my supply so the stock pile can be depleted to some degree.  I have two done and the third one, Brea’s, I have to decide on the shades of violet, lavender and cream that will go best with Raggity Ann’s red hair.

Hayden’s is the Little Fisher Boy.  It was so fun to make and I used scraps from the superhero capes that I make and the light blue was bought a couple of years ago.  When I bought it, it was intended to make something for Hayden.  The back is this same blue.  The circles remind me of water bubbles.

Payton’s quilt top is from some fabric that I fell in love with and purchased enough  to make a quilt with for one of the granddaughters.  Well she was the lucky girl that got it.  I am so in love with Sunbonnet Sue and wanted this for her quilt.  Windblown Sue was picked for her center.  I even matched all the stripes on this quilt which took lots and lots of thinking (man I have a headache now)  The back of her quilt is the dress fabric.

Check back for Brea’s quilt top.  It will be started this week.  I have purchased two new quilting feet for my sewing machine and will be quilting a new way on these quilts.

Love, love to quilt!!!
