OH SO BUSY....

Sometimes we let ourselves become so busy with the daily things that need to be done that we don't take the time to smell the roses, I mean tulips. Mine are just beginning to open now. I have never had tulips so this is a real treat for me. My Mom sent me some starts last spring for me to plant and she has the most gorgeous tulips ones eyes can ever behold.

My days are really busy right now and I sometimes wish for more hours in the day. Today was a day that I did not know where to start to get everything done. First of all, I woke early and began sewing trying to get capes done for the event I have to set up for on Monday and to restock my Quilted Bear booth (almost got them done before....), had to go to the insurance office and get the certificates of liability for the Summerfest event in Logan and Brigham City Peach Days, emailed all the info to Summerfest, got all the papers ready for Peach Days, cleaned the concession trailer as we have an event with food Wed - Sat of next week along with the craft event, had a guy come out and give us a bid on curbing for the back and front yard, ordered the cookies from the bakery for the Family History Conference Sunday, made a strawberry pie, cut out a dress for Canyon's class auction basket, cut a dress out for Payton from the scraps, started to work on Tiff's dress and I still never made it back to finish the capes (maybe tomorrow, oh I forgot that I have to do extractions in the morning then go to Ogden to restock the QB booth).
I think that I need to have more time in the day or someone to help me get everything done. I hope that I do not burn out before my season has begun. We have been accepted into some extra big events this year and it is really keeping me busy trying to do everything that is required to keep the business running smoothly.
I did not even have the time to talk to my children today, but they were in my thoughts so that counts. Maybe someone should clone another me then there would be two of us to do the job that only one is doing now. Good idea don't you think!!!!

Special Niece

Yesterday I got the most exciting phone call from a special person in my life. My sweet, sweet, niece Ta'Mera call to see if she could work every weekend for me this summer in my concession business. She worked for me last summer at a couple of events and was SUPER. This made my day, as I have some extremely big events coming up and was praying that Ta'Mera would be able to find the time in her busy schedule to help me. With her running the front and seeing that things are working smoothly, I can take care of the back things and hop from station to station filling in where I need to be.
We get so busy that one just can't think and you go into super mode and hope every station is being covered. Ta'Mera, Sean, Meghan and Kelsee are the type of people that can move about where needed and I don't have to worry. Each one is an extremely valuable employee and each year I pray, beg and plead for them to work another season with us.
I am also excited as Nolan is coming the first week of June to work with us until school starts in July. He is such a special young man and it will be exciting to train him and teach him good work ethics. I am looking forward to spending quality time with my sweet grandson.
Thanks, sweet Ta'Mera for being my special niece I love you very much. Looking forward to having you with us this summer.

Summer Calendar

HAPPY DAY!!! WE ARE IN PEACH DAYS!!
We are finally hearing back from all the events that applications were sent to beginning in January. We have been accepted to some rather big events this year and are so excited. Last week we got our notification from Orem Summerfest and Logan Summerfest that our foods were selected to be served at their events and today Brigham City Peach Days called and said that we were in again this year. The first of March we found out that we would once again be in the Davis County Fair. I am still waiting on Provo Freedom Days, Cache County Fair, Box Elder County Fair, Madison County Fair (Idaho), Emery County Fair, Weber County Fair, Iron County Fair, Payson Onion Days and Green River Melon Days to see if we have been selected.

The waiting game begins in January when I first make contact with them about becoming a vendor, filling out and mailing the applications then waiting until they make their selections on whether or not you are chosen. It is always a happy day in our home when the call comes that you will be a vendor at events. Even though you might have been a vendor last year does not guarantee that you will be the following year so you have several events you apply to and see what happens. So far we have been fortunate enough to have gained bigger events and still been accepted to past events.

Waiting for more happy days ahead.

Our Vacation Is Over

"Big Flat" Grandma and Grandpa got back from their vacation Saturday night. They had so much fun going with Canyon and Evan to the many places in San Diego. I think that Flat Grandpa and Grandma became "old and wrinkled" after Canyon shoved his Game Boy into the seat pocket where Kelly had stored them for the journey home. They wanted me to tell Kelly and Derek thanks for being such good sports about taking them with them and for sending the fantastic pictures of the places they visited.
THANKS!!!
We took Camo home yesterday afternoon and had a wonderful Easter dinner that Kelly and Derek had prepared. It is always a treat to eat at their table as Kelly is such a fantastic cook and fixes such delicious dishes. I miss the days when they were living with us and all the good meals that she prepared.
Our Easter day was perfect and the hugs and kisses that we got from Canyon and Evan were superb. They were talking so fast and telling us about their trip, but I think the best part was the "kus ku" (jacuzzi) that they got to swim in every evening after returning from a long day of having fun.
When we left Evan was asleep and Canyon was so tired he could hardly keep his eyes opened. I kissed him goodnight and he said "I will see you in six day. I will come on Friday" and he yawned and closed his little eyes.

Flat Grandma & Grandpa's Trip Day 5

Today we went to San Diego Zoo

Flat Grandpa and Canyon liked the snakes. Yuck! said Flat Grandma
Canyon and Evan called this Bornean Bearded pig "Grandpa Pig" because it has a beard.
These two meerkats are all cozy and settled down to nap. Flat Grammy and Grampy are ready for a nap also.
The colors on this bird took the breath away from Flat Grammy. Oh how she loves colorful birds and....
beautiful flowers. She is a bird and flower girl...
of all colors.
I think our vacation is almost over. We have to get back to Utah so Canyon and Evan can go back to school. This has been such a great vacation with our little munchkins. Oh how Not Flat Grammy and Grampy are missing their little ones, but Camo is giving them lots of kisses and hugs.

Flat Grandma & Grandpa's Trip Day 4

Today we went to Lego Land and had soooo much fun. Evan liked the Lego Girl ( I think this was Wendy from Bob the Builder) with the flowers. Her and Grammy loves FLOWERS!!

This is one tall dude made of legos. See how short he makes Canyon and Evan look. This was a super good day.

We got to see the STRAWBERRY fields and Evan wanted to stop and eat all the strawberries, but we couldn't eat them until they were washed.
We are having lots of fun on our vacation with Canyon and Evan.

Flat Grandma & Grandpa's Trip Day 3

We went to Sea World and had so much fun watching all the many fish swim. I think Evan had fun watching the fish and pretending that she was Princess Ariel. Canyon was pretending that he was one of the helpers feeding the fish.

Here are pictures of our adventures today. This is sure a fun vacation.

Flat Grandma & Grandpa's Trip Day 2

It takes a very long time to get to San Diego. We had to sleep in the car cause there was not enough space for us in the room, "only enough room for Mommy, Evie, Daddy and Canyon". We had a fun time on our trip to Las Vegas and stopped at Nellis AFB to play at the playground before we hit the road for San Diego.

SAN DIEGO HERE WE COME!!!

Flat Grandma & Grandpa Goes To San Diego

We are going on a vacation with Canyon and Evan to San Diego.
We had to stop and get snacks to munch on and some ice to keep all the drinks cold. It is going to be so much fun and there will be many things to see along the way. Let's hurry and start our vacation. Camo could not go with us so he had to stay in Brigham City to take care of NOT FLAT Grandma and Grandpa.

We are ready to go now and this is Flat Grandma and Evan waving to everyone.
We traveled for a very long time, but had a nap along the way as it takes two days to get to San Diego. We stopped in Beaver, Utah and got some squeaky cheese, as that is Flat Grandma and Grandpa's favorite thing to eat. See how happy they are. Yummy!!!! SQUEAKY CHEESE!!!
We are traveling again and will let you know more of what we are doing so keep checking Grandma's blog to see what adventures we are having.
