Bobbi

A few weeks ago I accidently came across the blog(s) of one of my very favorite people in the whole world.  What a thrill it is to read her thoughts , see the world in a new perspective and what a talented girl she is (she has to be talented because she is my niece).
My love for Bobbi goes way back to the day she was born.  How very excited I was when I found out she had finally arrived.  She was so tiny and adorable and my heart immediately melted and anything that she wanted she would get.  She is my first niece and I was finally an AUNT!!!! my greatest desires at that point in my life.
We moved to LaSal when Bobbi was just four months old and I would go see her everyday and we bonded fast and deep.  I would take her home with me for the day and spoil her royally then take her home (I think she is the one that put my grandparenting skills on track).
Bobbi was not very old when she decided she was going to run away.  Helen asked her where she was going and she told her "Aunt Kathy's".  Helen helped her pack a bag and sent her on her way.  She made it to the end of the drive and decided that "home" was a pretty good place to be.
We had the privilege of getting to have her in our home often.  Whenever Helen needed to help her father with the cows or on the ranch, she knew that my arms were open and ready to tend this special girl.  I remember how very broken my heart was when we had to move away.  I cried so hard and thought my heart was going to break in half.
I have not seen Bobbi for a few years because of miles between us, so when I found her blogs, man oh man, was my heart leaping for joy.  This was the best day of my life.  I am such a lucky person to have this beautiful woman in my life and even luckier to have her for my niece.  I love this girl with all my heart.
Thanks Bobbi for all the wonderful ideas and your thoughts that you share with me through your blogs.
I love you my precious girl.

What a Boy....

Our little Hayden Tanner is going to be three tomorrow, March 20th.
We waited and waited for him to come to our family and YES he was worth waiting for.

Hayden is full of fun and is all BOY.
I love his laughs which are genuine and so sweet.
I love to talk with him on the phone and he always tells me he loves me (oh how I love that little boy) and he always has to end with "okey dokey".
I love how he always wants to know if I have toys and if he can come play at my house (wish we lived closer so he could).
Happy Birthday my little Hayden!!!!
Grandma and Grandpa loves you so much and are sending you lots of hugs and kisses.
Have a very special day.

Happy Birthday Cody….

                  DSCN3820

So you are now 14 and what a joy you have been in our lives.  I remember so well the day you were born.  It was a stressful time for your Mom but as soon as you were delivered all her sweetness returned.

You have achieved so many great things in these 14 years and we are so very proud of you.  You make the “grand” in grandparents and we do love you so very much.

Have a fantastic day and we will be wishing we were there with you.  May all your goals be met this year and keep your smiley face and witty ways.

Love you tons and tons!!!!!

This Girl Cracks Me Up…

DSCN3839

This girl really does crack me up with her little ways and cute things that she says.

Evan was playing with her friends outside on Saturday and had this piece of toilet paper stuffed up her nose because she had a “little bloody nose”.

I laughed so hard because she was so serious about playing and still taking care of business.  She is one funny girl.

Busy Week...

I have been so busy since coming back from Nevada last Wednesday.
First I had to unpack and do laundry because there were not any clean clothes for us to wear after being on the road for six days...then there was the realization that my craft fair was coming up and there were only 5 dresses ready and no capes...bummer and double bummer!!!
I had to get busy and fast....
So my little fingers began working as fast as they could to make capes and more dresses.  I did finish on Tuesday morning just in time to take all the product to Ogden's Train Station and set up my booth.  I went to Quilted Bear and took out some dresses and skirts for the booth.  All in all the booth is filled and ready for business.
All I really want to do is start making Evan's quilt....it sure is going to be a dream quilt for a dreamy little girl.  I am just so anxious to get it on the frame and start making those stitches of love....when her's is done then only three more to go before the end of the year.  What a joy this quilting has been to me and my hands and fingers are holding out so far...
Maybe today I will put off making craft stuff and start on her quilt...that is the best therapeutic idea ever.

A Week of Adventure…

Last Friday, February 25th, we left Salt Lake City and flew to Grand Junction, Colorado to help with the Rasmussen family’s move to Winnemucca, Nevada.

We got there late in the afternoon and helped with packing the last of the truck.  There was still lots to pack and beings that it was late we stayed at a motel in Delta for the night.

Early the next morning we got another U-Haul trailer and went back to the house and finished loading.  We left Cedaredge at 11:00, right on schedule according to ToDSCN3814ny’s plans.  Tony drove the big truck pulling their camp trailer, Danielle drove the red pickup pulling her blue car and Dick drove the grey, mega cab dodge truck pulling the U-Haul trailer (he loves, loves that truck). We made it as far as Salt Lake City and stayed the night.                                          Our Caravan

Early Sunday morning we left Salt Lake and headed to our final destination of Winnemucca.  We crossed the salt flats and seen these sights…

We met Tony’s Mom, Louise, in Wells so she could take the dogs for a few weeks or until they are able to find a house to live in.  We had lunch then continued on our merry way .

DSCN3810From Colorado to Winnemucca, this was the view that I got to enjoy….the back of a trailer going down the road, beautiful blue, blue skies and the beauty of this gorgeous world.

We had good company and lots of fun…

We finally arrived in the cute town of Winnemucca, unloaded the trailer, turned in all the vehicles and rested for a couple of days before coming home.  We only had one mishap in our travels and it was this one….

We came home on Wednesday and it sure is good to sleep in my own bed, have my own pillow and sit on my own toilet.

We gave Cody his quilt….
