Our Season Is Over....

Oh the places that we have gone to and the people that we have met....
Funnel cakes, fried Twinkies or fried Oreos are on the menu for you to taste....
Maybe a hot dog or chili dog would be great.....No, let's see if a polish dog would do the trick.....
Why not try an ice cold slushie or a tall glass of fresh squeezed lemonade or a bottle of ice cold water to quench your thirst....
Pretzels or nachos would truly be great......

We have traveled from St. George to
Farmington to Providence then Springville to Syacuse and Provo... On the road some more, to Clinton, Sunset then Roy...Salem and back to Farmington...Off again to Payson to Brigham City then ended in Green River.

Our travels have been great and memories galore, but I think it is time to stop for a while and give this body a rest as it is not wanting any more.

Thanks to all who have helped us and made our season a success.
We could not or would not want to do it without your eagerness to help. Thanks Richard, Meghan, Kelsee, Bethany, Ta'Mera, Sean, Tiffeni, Cody and Danielle.

YOU ARE THE GREATEST!!!!!

Memories

Today before we left for Green River an interesting thing happened to me. I noticed that the garbage truck was stopped outside our house and went out to see if he needed me to move my car. The gentleman looked at me and said that he grew up in this house. I was surprised as I had always wondered about the families that had lived there in the past 100 years. His family name was Freeze and his mother sold the home to George (don't know his last name) when his family moved to Ogden in the late 70's to early 80's.

He told me about the house while his family lived there in the 60 and 70's. What is now my sewing room (small window upstairs) used to be his bedroom. The front door was the original door and above it there was a small window that opened to let the ventilation flow through the home. At that time the windows were the type that had weights on them to raise and lower the window. The ceilings were high like in the little entry that goes into my bedroom.

He told me about the old barn that used to be in the back yard that is now located on the lot on Forrest Street next to Val Kotter's business. I was told about the neighbors and who lived in the homes surrounding me.

Mr Freeze now lives in Tremonton, but recently started working for Brigham City and has wondered who lived in the home. He likes what we have done to the home and especially the well manicured yard.

Our home does have history and today one little piece of the puzzle was put into place.

What a Day!!!

Brook walked me through the steps to set up a new background look on my blog page. Oh how easy it was when I finally got to the right page. She says she is my "IT Support". I am so glad she is computer smart and can walk me through things.

We are busy getting the trailer loaded for our last food event of the year. It is bittersweet as our food season will be over on Saturday until April. I do love to go to the events and meet the many people that have played an important part in my life. We have served thousands of funnel cakes this season along with thousands of hot dogs.

Both of us are so busy right now getting ready for a craft fair that begins on October 1st. I have 20 dresses done and still need that many more. When we get back from Danielle's, I have to work extremely hard and get 30 superhero capes made. Dad is busy making cars and trucks. They are the cutest things and kids just love them. His greatest enjoyment is making toys. I am glad he has that hobby to keep him busy.

Richard

We only have two more days with Richard before we take him to Salt Lake and leave him at the motel on Monday. He has been such a God given blessing for us this summer. I know that he sacrificed being with his family this summer, but he has been busy and happy these 2 1/2 months that he has been with us. It has been so fun having him here and renewing our acquaintances with him.

I remember back in June being devastated and not knowing what to do as Dick was scheduled for all of these doctor appointments. We did not know whether he would have to have surgery on his hand and knee. One day I was talking to Danielle and without hesitation she told me that all would be okay that Richard could come help us if needed. She talked with him and immediately he was more than willing to come for the summer. Little did he know that he would have a fun filled summer working events and helping around the house.

I have watched him these past months and find him trying to be exactly like his Grandpa. He still wants to be his little shadow and is with him every minute of every day. He loves helping with the woodworking projects and has painted 24 ducks while here and has made his own double decker bus. He keeps the garden harvested and is so thrilled with what he brings in each time. The lawns keep mowed and our yard does look good. He has picked out fabric for me to make the pillowcase dresses and beams with delight when I get one finished.

This morning we were talking and I told him how happy I was that he was finally getting out and going to Lagoon with Bethany. I said that he has been with us "old foogies" and hasn't had much fun with kids his age. He looked at me as said "You and Pop's aren't old, you are awesome grandparents". I just wanted to hug and kiss him as this just make my heart swell with pride. Most kids don't think their grandparents are "cool" at that age.

I am going to miss him more than words can say. I know that this will be a great adventure for him and this is what he is suppose to be doing at this stage of his life. He is so anxious for Monday to come. I love seeing the anticipation in his face. He is a wonderful young man and I am proud to be his Grandmother. I love you Rich.

Dad's Anniversary Gift

Today we were able to finally find the laptop for Dad. Richard and I looked for three days to find a laptop for Dad and every store we went to had sold out on this particular model. I told Dad yesterday what we were trying to find and he found one store in Logan that had it. Early this morning we went to Logan and got it for him. HE IS HAPPY!!!!! His PC has some real problems and is not usable anymore. I refused to let him use mine for fear he might ruin mine. I could not afford to have him touch mine as it is my business computer and all my life is on it.

He is so excited about this laptop and it has a webcam built in. Richard is right now trying to get him set up so he can use it. This is going to be amazing to talk with all those that have the webcam. We will be able to talk and see you at the same time (according to Rich).

We will see if he can now surf the internet and not get angry at the world because his pc would just do it's own thing. Life is the pits!!! when it comes to computers.

32nd Wedding Anniversary

Today has been so wonderful and I have spent the day with some of my favorite people. Richard, Dick and I went to breakfast then to the Hill Air Force Airplane Museum. I love going their and paying my respects to our past military people. Today was very fitting to be there as this is the 7th anniversary of the attach on America. We did see many veterans there today. I love coming to be a part of this great display of military memorablila.

Richard had to go to meet with his recruiter as he is 5 days away from entering the Air Force. He is a third generation in my family to service in this great branch of the military. My brother, Kendall, my son, Derek and now my grandson, Richard have and are proudly serving their country.

We met Kelly, Canyon and Evan at Texas Roadhouse for dinner and had an enjoyable meal and good conversation. I so much enjoy being with my family and feeling the love that they have for us. I do have a great family and am so proud of each of them and the accomplishments they have had in their lives.

When Dick and I got married 32 years ago we never did think of our wedding date as 9/11. I remember the morning of my 25th anniversary so well. I was driving to work in the early morning just as the announcement came on the radio that the second plane had flown into the Twin Tower in New York. I was devistated and wanted to turn around and call my husband and children. I went on to work and everyone there was just as upset as I was. I remember calling Dick and telling him what was going on. I then called Brook and she was so upset, we both immediately talked about Derek and what effect this would have on him in the next days, weeks and months as he was stationed at Elmendorf AFB in Anchorage, AK. She called him and he hurried and called me before he had to run out the door. He said he would not be able to talk with me for a few days as the base would be in lock down and he did not know when he would be home again. I called Danielle and she was so concerned about the affairs of this world and what was in store for her children. I remember feeling like my whole world was falling apart and I as a wife and mother could not pull it together again. This was the first time in my life I remember feeling helpless and did not know how to help those around me.

Each year now as our anniversary comes, my thoughts are of those that lost their lives on that fateful day. I am so proud to be an American and to be the mother and grandmother of two very special men serving in the United State Air Force. I love America!!!!!

New Blogger

Today I am starting something new in my life, BLOGGING!!!!!

My daughter, Brook, has a blog page and I find myself going to it everyday to see if anything new has been posted to it. How exciting it is for me to see my grandchildren daily on her blog page.

I have thought that this would be a way for my children and extended family to keep up with my busy schedule and know what my thoughts and adventures are during the days, weeks and months of the year.

Today I have officially become a member of the blogging world and I am excited to share my thoughts with you.
